Currently seeking a Public Works Director. The Township will fill the position by a competitive interview process. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative public works leader who excels at project management. The Township is a progressive, financially stable municipality and is seeking the best and most qualified candidate to complement its team and provide leadership, direction, and oversight for its Public Works Department.
The ideal candidate will bring a mix of innovative ideas and proven practices to the position. The Township’s staff is the key to its success. The Township seeks a new Director who will provide employees with the opportunity to maximize their potential and meet the community’s standards for service in a positive work environment. The new Director is expected to have strong leadership, communication and people skills, the ability to manage in a busy environment, and familiarity with reading construction plans.
Candidates must have progressively more responsible management experience in building and construction, public works, property maintenance, or a related field. To complement existing experience in the department, experience with road maintenance or construction is preferred. Pennsylvania CDL license Class B is required (Class A with airbrake enforcement preferred). The ability to operate most equipment is required. Physical work is required including mowing, patching, climbing, and digging. The successful candidate must occasionally lift and/or move weights of 50 lbs. or more and must be available for emergency response. The successful candidate must have a satisfactory background check(s).
